Getting started¶
Welcome. This short section gets you oriented before you dive into the role-specific guides.
What is the AU-IR?¶
The Amoud University Institutional Repository (AU-IR) is a permanent, public online archive of Amoud University's research and scholarly output. It is built on DSpace, the repository platform used by universities around the world.

Every published item in the repository gets:
- a permanent web address that keeps working for years (see DOIs & ARKs explained), and
- a place in search engines and academic indexes such as Google Scholar, BASE, and CORE — so the world can find Amoud's research.
The web address¶
The repository is at:
Use this address everywhere — for reading, depositing, reviewing, and in anything you share or cite.
Do I need an account?¶
| What you want to do | Account needed? |
|---|---|
| Search, read, and download | No — open to everyone |
| Copy a citation / export references | No |
| Submit (deposit) your own work | Yes — and you must be granted permission to submit |
| Review & approve submissions | Yes — RIC reviewer access |
| Manage the repository | Yes — administrator access |
Registering is not the same as being able to submit
Anyone can create an account, but creating one does not automatically let you upload work. Submission rights are granted separately by the Research & Innovation Centre (RIC). See Before you start.
